From abstract logomarks to figurative icons, pristine logotypes, and combination marks which bring together words and images in order to establish and extend brand identity, I have versatile and in-depth experience as a logo designer. The creative director of three online magazines, for the cultural website Culturedarm, the brand’s main logo, an evocative abstraction, has been simplified into block colour and black-and-white linear forms for use on apparel, posters, and packaging. Logo and text can be separated out into their component parts, and assume bold new contours and vibrant colours while maintaining brand integrity.
At The Shimmering Ostrich and Tepid Take, brightly illustrated combination marks emphasise both magazines’ lively, lightly humorous takes on current affairs and pop culture. I have also been commissioned to design logos for local sports clubs, including Rufforth Tennis Club, a village tennis club on the outskirts of York, England. Monograms, emblems, mascots, circular logos, badges and crests, box logos, and logotypes with font customisations, working mostly in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, my logos can be at the core of your brand or product.
