Rufforth Tennis Club Logo
Combination Mark
Founded in 1995, Rufforth Tennis Club is a three-court tennis club in the village of Rufforth, four miles west of the city of York. With club nights on Mondays and Thursdays, Rufforth has four teams playing in the York Mixed Tennis League, two teams playing in the Fulford Ladies Invitation League, and one team playing in the Tyke Petroleum York Men’s Tennis League, as well as a team which plays in the Wetherby Winter League over the cooler months.
In 2015, I was commissioned by the club to design and publish a website as a resource for both current and aspiring members, providing information about the club, club nights, coaching, membership options, and results. In addition to the development of a website, social media accounts, and photography showcasing the court and surrounds, I designed two complementary club logos, incorporating the environs, the history of the site as an RAF station, and its current situation adjacent to a flying club.
The above logo, incorporating the same purple and green colour palette as the website, features an illustrated tennis racket, an illustrated glider, and descriptive text set within a circular logo format. The text uses modified versions of the Museo Slab and Oswald fonts.
